How Like-Minded Communities Affect Our Nervous System

One of the most underrated aspects of coming together with like-minded people is the sense of safety it can cultivate within our nervous system. The more time we spend with individuals who can regulate their emotions, the easier it becomes for us to regulate our own.

The Stress of Negative Environments

When we relentlessly watch the news, spend time with people who have a negative or aggressive perspective, or surround ourselves with individuals who make us feel uncomfortable, we train ourselves to feel stressed and anxious. Much of this happens below the level of our conscious awareness. It occurs within the nervous system, and these unconscious processes influence how we think, feel, and respond to the world around us.

When I envisioned the Hike~Breathe~Connect events, I wanted to create the kind of safe, supportive community I’ve needed in the past and continue to value today.

Safe People as a Form of Self-Care

Seeking out safe people is a powerful form of self-care. By connecting more deeply with our internal processes, we can better recognise which relationships support our health and wellbeing and which do not.

Creating a Supportive Community: My Vision for Hike~Breathe~Connect

When I envisioned the Hike~Breathe~Connect events, I wanted to create the kind of safe, supportive community I’ve needed in the past and continue to value today. There have been times in my life when I didn’t feel safe in my own body and struggled to distinguish which people or environments were truly good for my health.

Finding Safety in Connection

Breathwork is a powerful way to reconnect with ourselves and with others. It helps us tune into what our bodies are telling us and makes it easier to understand our emotions. That’s why creating a safe space where you feel seen, heard, and supported is so important. It is where real connection and healing can happen.

If you’re looking to connect with like-minded women who are ready to support, uplift, and grow alongside one another, join us. In this space, we share not only breathwork, but also our experiences, insights, and encouragement. Together, we create a community where everyone feels safe to explore, heal, and thrive.

Whether you are navigating a life transition or simply seeking a deeper connection with yourself and others, you will find a supportive circle here.
